Richard Livingston Huntley is a New York City based percussionist who plays and enjoys
a wide variety of music, from jazz, klezmer, Brazilian, and afro-Cuban to rock, avant-garde,
blues and country. A partial list of the musicians he has played and or recorded with include: Dave Ballou, Art Baron, John Benitez, John Blake, Seamus Blake, Luis Bonilla, Cameron Brown, Billy Drewes, Tovah Feldshuh, Marvin Hamlisch, Hazmat Modine, Richard Kimball, Kleztraphobix, Frank London, Donny McCaslin, Virginia Mayhew, Mulgrew Miller, Kirk Nurock, Shunzo Ono, Ralph Peterson, Jason Rigby, Scott Robinson, Dom Salvador, Liam Sillery, Gary Smulyean, Susan Watts, Jack Wilkins, Willie Williams, and Kenny Wollesen.

He has recorded and performed with Danish jazz artists Henrik Solberg, Thomas Clausen, Thomas Franck, Emil Hess, Nikolaj Hess, and Soren Lee.

Richard is a faculty member at the Manhattan School of Music pre-college division and has given clinics and taught at music schools in Denmark. He has played for a number of off-Broadway shows, and is an associate artist with The Civilians. He has also played at the Williamstown Theatre Festival, and worked with the directors Michael Greif, Elizabeth Swados, playwright John Guare, and the magician Teller.

Originally from Iowa City, Richard has been living in New York since 1991. He enjoys
practicing yoga and riding his bicycle, pretending he's in the Tour de France.
